Dr. Galya Schwartz

Professional Experience:

• Graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (DVM)
• Small Animal Rotating Internship at VCA Norwalk/Shoreline, Connecticut
• Emergency veterinarian at VCA Canada Alta Vista Animal Hospital
• Hospitalist at VCA Canada Alta Vista Animal Hospital

Dr. Galya Schwartz was born and raised in Ottawa. After completing her veterinary degree at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2013, she completed a 1 year rotating internship in Connecticut. She then returned to Ottawa to be closer to family and worked as an ER vet for 7 years before moving into a Hospitalist role. She is excited to continue this role at Capital City Specialty and Emergency Hospital.

Dr. Schwartz has two Devon rex cats, Figgy and Nimbus. In her spare time, Dr. Schwartz enjoys travelling, crafting, gardening, spending time with family and of course catering to her cats’ every need.
