Dr. Schwartz was born and raised in Ottawa. After completing her veterinary degree at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2013, she completed a 1-year rotating internship in Connecticut. Dr. Gayla then returned to Ottawa to be closer to family and worked as an ER vet for seven years before moving into a Hospitalist role. She is excited to continue this role at Capital City Specialty and Emergency Hospital.
Dr. Schwartz has two Devon rex cats, Figgy and Nimbus.
In her spare time, Dr. Schwartz enjoys traveling, crafting, gardening, spending time with family, and catering to her cats’ every need.
