Amy Verney graduated from Ontario Veterinary College in 2012 and has since worked throughout Renfrew County in general practice settings; however, she spent many years on call for emergency situations and has decided to pursue emergency medicine full-time.
She is no stranger to the team at Cap City, having worked with many of them as a veterinary assistant while aspiring to get into vet school.
She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and movement and mobility. She completed her certification with the College of Animal Chiropractors in 2016.
She looks forward to further working alongside the Capital City Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital specialists to develop herself as an emergency and critical care veterinarian.
In her spare time, she is a competitive weightlifter and has won the National Championships for her age and weight class in 2019; she even has some Canadian records in several lifts, which she is very proud of and will gladly tell you all about!
She shares her home with her husband Jason and their three cats, Dusty, Kevin, and Dinky.
